How to Become a Member of the SASS Library?
Anyone can become a library member by presenting a valid ID and signing the membership form, while also agreeing to follow the library regulations. For full-time, part-time, and postgraduate students of the School of Advanced Social Studies (SASS) in Nova Gorica and the Faculty of Information Studies (FIŠ) in Novo Mesto, the membership fee is included in the tuition and study-related fees for the current academic year. All other users pay an annual membership fee according to the current price list (in Slovene).
Legal entities can also become library members. SASS and FIŠ students must present their student ID card in order to use all library services. Other users may borrow materials with a valid personal identification document.
IMPORTANT NOTICE: Library membership must be renewed each academic year. Any change of address must be reported to the library. The price list determines the cost of membership, overdue fees, reminders, and other library services.
Borrowing Materials
Only registered library members may borrow materials for home use. Users are not allowed to borrow items on behalf of others or under someone else’s name. Foreign citizens who do not have a permanent or temporary residence in the Republic of Slovenia may borrow materials for home use only if a Slovenian citizen provides a guarantee.
Users may not remove materials from the library without having the loan properly recorded by the library staff.

Borrowing: up to 5 library items in total. More if approved by the head librarian.
The loan period can be renewed in person, by telephone, by email (izposoja@fuds.si) or through the COBISS+/My Library online service.
If a member does not return the borrowed material on time, late fees will be charged according to the current price list.
Lost or Damaged Materials
Users are required to replace lost or damaged materials with the same item or a suitable equivalent, and to cover the processing costs in accordance with the current price list. If the material cannot be replaced, users must pay compensation corresponding to the processing costs as specified in the valid price list.
